Five Solae â€Å"At a deeper psychological level, the reformers ideas of salvation introduced a major change in the way people saw their world. They could no longer free themselves from sin through magical rituals. Instead, they had to be active in adopting a new lifestyle, based on private prayer, worship, study, and individual ethical choice. The Protestant Reformation marked a massive alteration of religion. New religious ideas flourished during the Reformation, thus, challenging the beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church. He was a superior of the Reformation and guided the way for all non-Catholic Christian religions. In addition, he helped shatter the Protestant Church from the Roman Catholic Church. His most recognized accomplishment of his career was his system of theology later called Calvinism, which can be explained in his book, Institutes of Christian Religion. John Calvin also had an impact on the French-speaking Swiss city of Geneva, for the city adopted many reforms contributed by Calvin. Several people supported his reforms and even his beliefs that some wanted to completely give up Roman Catholic beliefs. Yet, an issue evolved. These people wanted to give up the faith in the pope and only believe in the Scripture. They wanted to wholly purify the Church; thus, they were called Puritans.
